Miss Janice
HB group teacher

About herself
“I wanted to teach music just like my mom did. But once I was in front of the class, I knew: this is it.”
Once upon a time, she started giving music lessons, inspired by her mother, a music educator. Nevertheless, she ultimately opted for primary education.
“I haven't regretted it for a day.”
After moving to the Netherlands, she ended up at Twickel:
“I got a call, got an interview, and was immediately allowed to drop by for a drink with the team. The atmosphere was warm, people were friendly and that's still the case.”
Every school day starts with fun:
“The kids always make for a smile. I enjoy conveying subject matter, but also norms and values. If they take that with them, my day is successful.”
What she loves most about her work?
“Seeing that children grow. That by the end of the year, they know more, can do more and are more confident than when they came in.”
About the kids
“In addition to the courses, I hope they learn what respect is — for rules, for each other and for themselves.”
She attaches great importance to structure, clear agreements and social development.
“There are rules everywhere. If you learn to understand and follow them, it will help you throughout your life.”
A moment that stays with her forever:
“When I turned 35, my group had decorated the room, brought cake and left sweet messages. With the help of parents, they made it an unforgettable day.”
About collaborating
“The most important thing is that we support and respect each other. And that we're ultimately looking in the same direction.”
She enjoys working together in a team where there is room for different opinions, but also for shared goals.
How she experiences the atmosphere at Twickel?
“The atmosphere is warm, open and collegial. It feels good to be part of this team.”
