Gifted education

A place where gifted children recognize themselves, develop and are just allowed to be children.

Our vision

Giftedness is more than just a high IQ. It requires education in which children are not only challenged cognitively, but also learn to deal with their sensitivity, creativity, criticism and need for autonomy.

At Twickel, we believe in education that appeals to the entire student. By providing structure and giving space, we build self-knowledge, learning pleasure and trust. This is how children develop skills that they can build on for a lifetime.

In the classroom

In our full-time HB groups for groups 6 to 8, we offer customized education within a small, safe group (max. 20 students). We follow the core goals, but offer subject matter in a compact and targeted manner. In addition, we work with enrichment, projects, philosophy and debate.

We combine learning with reflection and encourage children to discover what they need to grow — in thinking and doing.

Compact and

Basic material is offered efficiently and in a targeted manner. Children do not have to practice endlessly, so that there is room for deepening and their own learning goals.

Enrich

We offer challenging subject matter that goes beyond the regular curriculum. Think of philosophizing, academic language, creative writing and mathematical puzzles.

Projects

Project-based work is an integral part. Themes such as politics, business or biomimicry connect knowledge, skills and curiosity. Research, plan and present together: learning by doing.

Peers

Children feel seen and understood. They learn with and from each other in a group of like-minded people — that provides peace, safety and recognition.

HB teachers

Our team specializes in supervising gifted students. They understand thought patterns, sensitivities and learning needs, and provide a rich learning environment with structure and space.

Hiring policy

We use a careful intake procedure, in which we look beyond just an IQ score. We are looking for children with characteristics of giftedness that suit our education. A recent psychological study is part of the application.

School guide

The school guide provides a complete picture of Twickel: from vision and teaching approach to school hours, vacations and parental involvement. Handy for new and current parents.
