Together, we ensure a happy school time for every child. We attach great importance to good communication and parental involvement. On this page, you will find practical information about absence, parental participation and how we keep you informed about the ins and outs of school.
Sick or absent?
Is your child ill or unable to come to school for any other reason? Please report this before 8:30am via Parro or by phone to the administration. In case of absence without notice, we will contact you.
Parent Council (OR)
Many hands make light work! Together with the school team, the Parent Council organizes all kinds of fun activities such as the Sinterklaas party, sports day or summer party. Parents who want to help are more than welcome — your efforts really make a difference!
Participation Council (MR)
The MR thinks and helps decide on important school issues, such as policy, organization and school development. Parents and staff are equally represented here. In this way, together, we ensure a transparent and strong school organization.

Thuis lezen
Twickel werkt samen met de afdeling Educatie van Cpunt vanuit de aanpak de Bibliotheek op school. Dit is een bewezen effectieve aanpak in leesbevordering, waarin doelbewust gewerkt wordt aan een goed leesklimaat op school.
Op school is er dagelijks aandacht voor lezen, want lezen is de basis voor leren. Met een aantrekkelijke schoolcollectie en leerkrachten die leerlingen inspireren tot lezen wordt eraan gewerkt om van alle leerlingen gemotiveerde lezers te maken die bewust kunnen omgaan met media.
Thuis is het ook belangrijk om aandacht te hebben voor lezen en taal. Voorlezen en leesplezier thuis heeft een grote invloed op de schoolprestaties van een kind. Hierbij willen we jullie een aantal tips geven over wat je thuis allemaal kunt doen:
- Lees regelmatig voor (het voorlezen stopt niet als een kind zelf leert lezen!)
- Zet het leesplezier centraal en maak er een gezellig vast terugkerend moment van
- Door elke dag op een vast moment te lezen, bouw je een duurzame gewoonte op zonder dat het moeite kost
- Haal verschillende soorten boeken in huis
- Praat met je kind over boeken
- Je bent als ouder een rolmodel: zien lezen doet lezen
- Lees en praat met je kind in je thuistaal.
